Privacy Policy

SnapCV ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Works Limited. This policy explains what data we collect when you use snapcv.in, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using SnapCV you agree to the practices described here.
1. Data we collect
We deliberately keep server-side storage lightweight. Our Firestore database holds only account-level metadata — it does not store the contents of your resume (work history, education, skills, etc.).
- Account metadata (Firestore) — name, email, authentication ID, subscription/plan status, total downloads, account join date, and last-active date.
- Authentication — sign-in identifiers and session tokens, managed by Firebase Authentication.
- Resume content — the details you type into the builder stay in your browser. They're sent to our render service only at the moment you generate a PDF/DOCX, and are not saved to our database or disk afterward.
- Uploaded photos/files — a photo or file you upload for use in your resume is processed to produce your document and is not retained by us afterward; it stays associated with your local session, not stored server-side long-term.
- Payment data — subscription and billing details are handled directly by Razorpay. We do not store your card, UPI, or bank details on our servers.
- Usage data — pages visited, device/browser type, and approximate location, collected via standard web analytics.
2. How we use your data
- To generate your resume and cover letter (PDF/DOCX) via our rendering service.
- To power AI-assisted content suggestions (your resume text may be sent to our AI provider for this purpose only, not used to train external models).
- To manage your subscription and process payments through Razorpay.
- To send account, billing, or product emails. Marketing emails are opt-in and you can unsubscribe anytime.
- To detect abuse, fraud, and enforce our Terms of Use.
3. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers needed to run SnapCV — Firebase (Google Cloud) for auth/account metadata, AWS for on-demand PDF rendering, Razorpay for payments — each bound by their own security and data-processing terms. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
4. Data retention
Account metadata (name, email, subscription status, download count, join/last-active dates) is retained as long as your account is active. Resume content and uploaded photos live in your browser and are not kept on our servers once your document is generated. You can delete your account at any time from account settings; deletion removes your account metadata from our active systems within 30 days, subject to backups which are purged on a rolling cycle.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or the EU GDPR where applicable), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent for optional processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember builder progress, and analytics cookies to understand product usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break login and the builder.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections (HTTPS), server-side auth checks, and access controls on stored files — to protect your data. No system is 100% secure; if a breach affecting your data occurs, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
8. Children's privacy
SnapCV is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
