Accessibility Statement

SnapCV is committed to making our resume builder usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, or voice control.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across the site and builder. This is an ongoing effort — some areas are more complete than others, and we're actively working through the gaps.

What we've done

• Semantic landmarks — <nav>, <main>,<footer> and descriptive alt text on template and preview images.
• Keyboard support — interactive controls (carousels, accordions, toggles) respond to Tab, Enter, Space — not mouse-only.
• Focus states & ARIA — visible focus indicators, aria-expanded,aria-label on collapsible sections (FAQ, builder panels).
• Color contrast — checked against WCAG AA (4.5:1 text, 3:1 graphics) for body text and primary buttons.
• Responsive & zoomable — layouts adapt to browser zoom (up to 200%) and text resizing without horizontal scroll.
• Form labels & error messages — all inputs have associated labels; validation errors linked to fields via aria-describedby.
• Skip links — skip to main content link at top of each page for keyboard users.

Known limitations

The drag-and-drop and live-preview editing steps in the resume builder are more complex to navigate by keyboard alone; we're improving these with arrow-key support and ARIA live regions. Some third-party embeds (e.g. payment checkout, AI chat) follow their own provider's accessibility standards, which we don't directly control.

Testing & tools

We regularly test with:

• NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver screen readers
• Keyboard-only navigation (no mouse)
• Automated tools: axe, WAVE, Lighthouse
• Color contrast checkers (no red/green confusion)

Accessibility preferences

SnapCV respects system preferences for:

• Reduced motion — animations are disabled if you enable "Reduce motion" in OS settings
• Prefers color scheme — dark mode support respects system preference
• Font sizing — uses clamp() for fluid, accessible typography
